Gene Merriam

Gene has returned for a second stint on MCEA’s board after serving as the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and as a State Senator. Gene also served as the appointed environmental representative on the Minnesota Forest Resources Council and is currently President of the Freshwater Society. He previously served on the MCEA Board of Directors from 1997 through 2002. Gene was important in the passage of many pieces of vital environmental legislation in Minnesota.
