Peter Reich

Peter B. Reich

Professor Reich is a Regents Professor, as well as a Distinguished McKnight University Professor, at the University of Minnesota. He is also F.B. Hubachek, Sr. Chair in Forest Ecology and Tree Physiology in the Department of Forest Resources; and a Resident Fellow for the Institute on the Environment.  Reich has a Ph.D. 1983 from Cornell University, and is an expert in forest and grassland ecology at levels from physiology to the ecosystem, and from Minnesota to the globe. Peter’s current research focuses on the impacts of global environmental change on terrestrial ecosystems. This includes effects of climate change, elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide, land use, fire and biotic invasion on health, biodiversity, and sustainability of forest and grassland ecosystems. Reich has received many University, national, and international awards and recognitions.
