Protecting and Restoring Minnesota's Waters

The ultimate objectives of MCEA’s water quality work are simple: keep clean waters clean; make sure lakes, rivers, and streams are safe for swimming and fishing, and healthy enough to support vigorous aquatic life; and to restore polluted water bodies to at least meet these basic goals.

To accomplish those goals, MCEA will use whatever tools are available. That's why in October 2009, MCEA petitioned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to step in and force the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to more vigorously enforce the Clean Water Act.
