Professor Coggins works in environmental economics, with emphasis in the areas of air and water policy, air pollution and human health, and market-based approaches to environmental protection.  Other areas of interest include welfare economics, the use of insurance and financial tools to address natural disasters, economic inequality, and policy analysis.
